American Debt Control Has Another “Mission”
American Debt Control’s purpose for being in business is to help people get out of debt and take back control of their lives. We see some pretty bad things happen, but for most, there nearly always is a way out.
There are people in our community – and yours – who would gladly trade places with just about any of our clients. These people have no debts. They also have no jobs and no homes.
Many of us have gotten so accustomed to hearing news accounts talk about “the homeless” that we accept the situation as a given. The people who are the subjects of those news stories often have a different perspective, however.
They are real people with real needs and desires to better themselves. We want to help them, too, so the Union Gospel Mission has become part of the mission of American Debt Control.
Each of the departments in our company is a money raising team. Each has a bucket to fill with money and a deadline for completion. The team that raises the most will get some very rare time off.
We all understand our little project is, well, a drop in the bucket, considering the overall need. We also know we need to do something, and we will keep looking for more ways to make it fun to support this cause.
The Union Gospel Mission has now been serving the homeless in Fort Worth and Tarrant County for over 120 years. It was founded in 1888 to coordinate the relief efforts of local churches.

The Mission serves more than 190,000 meals each year and provides on-site medical care and shelter to hundreds of men, women and children each week – they never turn anyone away!
Equally important is the Mission’s success with life-changing programs that each year help hundreds of men and women get back on their feet and re-enter the workforce.
Union Gospel Mission receives no government funding and is not a United Way Agency. It relies completely on the generosity of the Greater Fort Worth community for support. If you would like to join the cause with American Debt Control employees, you may make a contribution of any size at the Mission’s Website.
